DEGREE SHOW: The Niveous Deer
I began to draw the final drawings, I plan to do 30, and a book cover. First are the drafts, and then I drew the line works. I have 5 chapters of the story, for each chapter has 6 images. I tried my best to tell the story by images because I want the audience can understand the story through my drawings. Finally, I finished the 30 images, almost 2 days for 1 drawing, used digital drawing, photoshop, and next step I need to add script inside the book and think about the layout. PROJECT: Fiction
The first project we did in our 2nd year, was 'Fiction', the 'core' work has already begun during the summer, each of us chose a book from the list the tutor provided, my choice was 'Aesop Fables', cause I always interested in the fable stories. So, I started to draw related to the theme. Characters: I've drawn many characters from the whole book.(animals) Landscapes: The scene part, I drew the lines first, then scanned these to the computer, coloured them in Photoshop, finally printed them out on tracing paper. I had a trip in Shanxi(a province in China)during the summer, I did some observation drawing on the trip, these might be useful for the project. EXTERNAL PROJECT: The story in the forest
I always want to draw for children book, so in this project, I chose the theme of children illustration book. My plan is a children story book. ROTATION:Editorial
The last project of rotation is "Editorial" with Luke. It's our first time to draw depend on an article. We had 2 articles to do. The first article is about Squatters. 1.Squatters, homeless people and empty buildings---use labyrinth(the road in the drawing) to show how hard if the homeless people want to find a place to live in. 2.Squatters, homeless people and empty buildings---the people in the drawing is the reflection, there is something(maybe a window or glass) obstruct the people, so they cannot touch the buildings.I even try to draw each building on a people's reflection, so it's matching. PROJECT: 2060
The last project of the second year is '2060' We are asked to think about what the people in 2060 want us to do now to influence the future as designers. This is the first time our 3 majors worked together. The whole 8 weeks project include many workshops, events related. Basically about society, food, catastrophe. COURSE PROJECT: Play-Learn——History of Money
Beginning The starting project of the 3rd year, I chose 'Play-Learn', the first session of this project was group work. Our group's theme is The History of Money. Our group's main focus on money was ''collage" in the process of making the banknote. So we decided to design an activity that audiences can take part in and have their own experience to learn the banknote collage process. After a lot of research, we've come up with a basic template, idea for the activity. step 1: Participants will be given a multiple of objects of "value", maybe sweets wrapped in gold foil/fools gold/other. step 2: The Participants then changes these sweets for a blank, currency sized, piece of paper, representing paper money step 3: They then get to design their own currency by stamping pre-made stamps/linocuts cutouts that we've made, representing how paper money was once made from collage step 4: The note that they've ma...
